Welcome to
El Shaddai Guest House!
Ours is a unique bed & breakfast nestled
in the mountains of western Pennsylvania. Come stay in our 1800's
carriage house we are in the process of renovating. The louvered windows & exposed
beams give it the true authenticity of the barn it once was. Stand and look
up into our lighted cupola, which can be seen all around our small town.
Visiting Cherry Tree is like stepping back in time. Where people still take walks
in the evening and say "howdy doo" to the neighbors or go on down to the
corner store to buy ice cream. Of course strolling on over to
see our town monument is also a treat. Our monument marks the place where the
sons of William Penn purchased the western portion of Pennsylvania from the Indians.
At the time this occurred there used to be a huge black cherry tree
that stood at the spot the monument is now located. It was also as far up river
as you could go by canoe, and was known as the "Canoe Place", which was the
former name of Cherry Tree. In the near future, canoeing on the west branch of
the Susquehanna river will once again be a reality
If
you like to golf, the Chetremon course awaits you just
up the road. Designed to play in a heavily wooded area, with 5 holes having
water hazards, accuracy is essential. Are you up to the challenge? If your not,
a number of other courses are not too far away.
Other
historic and interesting sites to see are all just a short
drive away and you can enjoy the scenic mountain view as you go. Whatever
the reason for your visit, we hope to make it a positive and pleasant experience.
